The great of world badminton has announced its retirement on 3 rd July. He began his junior-level career by winning the Badminton Asia Junior Championship held at Kyoto in 2000 at Boys singles. In 1999, he won a bronze medal in doubles category in Yangon. With the Chinese boys’ team, Lin Dan was a part of the team which won the Asia Badminton Team Championship in 2000. He won the bronze medal in the men’s singles of boy’s singles of World Junior Championships in 2000 played in Guangzhou. Apart from the bronze medal, he was a part of the team which won the mixed team event of World Junior Championships in 2000 played in Guangzhou. Lin Dan's professional career began in the year 2001. He reached the finals of the tournament and lost to his Chinese compatriot Xia Xuanze. His first international title came at the 2002 Korea Open. All England Badminton Championships 2020: PV Sindhu crash out in the quarterfinals

The Indian challenge ended as World Championship PV Sindhu crashed out in the quarterfinals to Nozomi Okuhara the All England Badminton Championships played at Arena, Birmingham on Friday. It was a dominating start by Sindhu who looked in complete control with smashes and drop shots not allowing Okuhara to play her natural game. At the interval, the Indian had a commanding 11-6 lead. After the interval, Sindhu made the life tough for the Japanese with smashes and created pressure to win the first set easily at 21-12. In the second game, Okuhara made a strong comeback into the game playing long rallies and creating panic among Sindhu. Both players took 2 points each before the Japanese proved her worth and made life tough for the Indian. Sindhu was forced to commit mistakes. At the interval, Okuhara had a 11-7 lead. All England Badminton Championships Day 2: Sindhu moves into the quarterfinals, Lakshya Sen loses in the 2nd round

The young Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen lost out to Denmark Victor Axselen in two straight games at 17-21, 18-21 in the 2 nd round of the prestigious All England Badminton Championships played at Arena, Birmingham on Thursday.   It was a hard-fought match between Lakshya and the experienced Danish player. Victor engaged Sen in long rallies, but the Indian stayed well enough to stayed which put the opponents under pressure.  The young Indian mixed defence with aggression as he emerged right on a long 50 plus rallies. Axselen held his nerves to stay ahead on a three-point lead on a couple of occasion. Every time, the Danish player looked to dominate, the Indian came back strongly to comeback into the match. Eventually Victor won the first game easily at 21-17. In the second game, Axselen opened a 6-2 lead in the early stages. All England Badminton Open Championships 2020: PV Sindhu moves into 2nd round

It was a great start for PV Sindhu who defeated Zhang Bei Wan of United States of America in two straight sets by 21-14, 21-17 to move into the 2 nd round of the All England Badminton Championships played at Arena, Birmingham on Wednesday. The World Champion started off to an aggressive note taking an early 2-0 lead. Sindhu played with aggression and put the USA player under pressure with smashes. Zhang came back strongly to level the things at 6-6. Both players took alternate points till 9-9. The Indian took 2 points in succession to have a 11-9 lead at the interval. After the interval, Zhang tried her best to come back into the game, but the Indian showed her domination to win the first set easily at 21-14 in just 17 minutes. In the second game, Sindhu again played with aggression initially before committing a lot of mistakes either hitting in the net or hitting out wide.
