HS Prannoy opened the day for the Indian contingent. He suffered a three-game loss to Lu GZ of China.  The Indian shuttlers had a decent outing as HS Prannoy progressed into the second round of the Super 750 India Open played at KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi on 16 th January 2024. HS Prannoy produced a dominating performance in the first round with a straight-set win over Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei. It was an impressive effort by Indian who looked in great form during the first set winning by 21-6. He showed his class with another superb effort to win the second set at 21-18 to move into the second round. Pranshu Rajawat stunned Indian teammate Lakshya Sen in three thrilling games. Lakshya Sen won the first game comfortably at 21-16 before Rajawat made a strong comeback winning the second game at 21-16 before winning the decider at 21-13 to move into the next round.
