  It was a sad end for Satwik/Chirag Shetty as they lost in the semi-finals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 11 th January. Kim/Seo looked in aggressive touch right from the word go putting pressure on Satwik/Chirag Shetty with their smashes and drop shots. The South Korean pair dominated not allowing the Indian pair any chances and making life tough. At the mid-game interval, Kim and Seo had a commanding 11-6 lead.   The Indian pairing of Satwiksairaj RankiReddy and Chirag Shetty cruised past their Malaysian opponent in straight sets to enter the semi-finals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 10 th January 2025. Right from the word go, it was a closely fought affair as both pairs showed class with their shots keeping their opponents under pressure. At the mid-game break, Ong and Teo had a slender lead. After the break, it ebbed and flowed with both pairs not able to convert match point. Satwik/Chirag fought back strongly to level the scores at 24-24. They eventually won the first game 26-24.   The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair. Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jia Ya Fan and Zhang of China in three thrilling games. The Indian pair struggled in the initial phases of the first game trailing by 3-6 before taking 7 points in succession to put the pressure back on the Chinese pair.   The Indian Shuttlers had some decent performances on the 2 nd day of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 8 th January. After a disappointing outing in 2024, a few of them started with a bang and looked sharp. In the men’s singles section, HS Prannoy cruised past Canada’s Brian Young in three games. The first game saw the Indian dominating with aggressive smashes and putting the opponent under immense pressure winning it easily by 21-12. The second game saw Prannoy putting on a display of badminton taking a 6-3 lead before the match was stopped due to leakage of roof. After some time, Young showed attacking strokes taking an 11-9 lead at the mid-game interval before the match was again stopped due to roof leakage.
