Indian women’s team announce squad for Hockey World Cup 2022
The Indian team for the prestigious Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022 to be played in Amstelveen and Spain from 1 st July has been announced. Under the captaincy of Savita Punia, they are currently playing in their last league match of FIH Pro Hockey League against the United States of America. It has been a decent journey as they would be looking to end the tournament with a credible position in their debut season. Rani Rampal has been rested due to an injury. The Indian women’s team proved their worth as they registered their best finish in Tokyo Olympics losing to Great Britain in the bronze medal match. The Indian team has been clubbed with New Zealand, England, and China in Pool B. India will take on England in their opening match at Wagner Stadium, Amstelveen.
