German Open 2022 Day 1: Top Indian shuttlers qualify for 2nd round
The top Indian shuttlers did not feel rustiness as they moved into the second round of the Super 300 German Open played at Westenergie Sporthalle, Mulhelm on Tuesday. Kidambi Srikanth defeated Brice Leverdez in a three-game thriller. The Indian started the first game on an aggressive note winning the first set easily at 21-10. Srikanth lost his stem and committed unforced errors as he lost 2 nd set by 13-21. The third game saw the Indian dominating his opposition winning the third game easily at 21-7 to move into the second round. He will take on LU GZ of China. Lakshya Sen started his tournament on a winning note defeating Kanthaon Wangchareon easily. The Indian produced dominating display in the first game going past opponents by 21-6. It was a closely fought 2 nd game as both players fought for each point before Sen won the second game by 22-20 to move into the second round.
