ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 Match 20: Pakistan women dents West Indies hopes
The Pakistan women’s team ended their 18-match losing streak as they defeated West Indies in a rain-curtailed match played at Seddon Park, Hamilton on Monday. After a long delay due to heavy rains, Pakistani captain Bismah Maharoof won the toss and decided to field first. The powerplay overs were reduced to 4 overs each. Amin Ameen kept the pressure on the West Indies opening batters of Hayley Mathews and Deandra Dottin. At the end of the first 4 overs, West Indies women scored just 19 runs. Fatima Sana got the breakthrough in her opening over getting rid of Mathews caught by Muneeba Ali. Dottin showed some intent against the Pakistan bowlers. Anam Amin bowled with tight lines and lengths not allowing Dottin and West Indies Taylor to score runs easily on a pitch that had turn.
