Badminton Asia Team Championship 2024: Indian team loses to China, Face Japan In Quarterfinals
The Indian Men’s team went down fighting 2-3 in the last group match against China played at Shah Alam, Malaysia on 15 th February 2024. It was an ideal start for the Indians as HS Prannoy defeated Weng Hong in three games. The first game was a disappointing outing with Indian looking out of sorts losing with scoreline of 6-21. HS Prannoy made a strong comeback into the match fighting back each time he was trailing before winning the second game at 21-18. The third game was also closely fought encounter as both players fought for each point. It went right down the wire before Prannoy held onto his nerves to win it by 21-19 to give India a 1-0 lead. Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun went down to Chen Boyang and Liu Yi in the first men’s doubles. Satwik/Chirag was rested ahead of the knockout matches.
