New Zealand win historic ODI series on Pakistan soil

 New Zealand registered 2 wickets win over Pakistan in the third and deciding ODI match played at National Stadium, Karachi on 13 January 2023. Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start for the hosts as they lost the early wicket of Shan Masood via review for caught behind. The umpire called not out but on review, it was overturned to out. Babar Azam was stumped again in the series for the third successive time leaving Pakistan in trouble. Fakhar Zaman and Rizwan looked cautious against disciplined New Zealand bowling. At the end of the first 10 overs, Pakistan made 37 for 2. Fakhar and Rizwan showed intent keeping the scoreboard ticking with boundaries and taking singles not allowing the NZ bowlers to settle. Zimbabwe stun Bangladesh in T20I and ODI series

 It was a superb performance by Zimbabwe defeating the full member nation in both T20I and ODI series at home. All 6 matches of the series were played at Harare Sports Club, Harare from 30 th July till 10 th August 2022. Zimbabwe registered the first T20I series win over a full member nation. The first T20I was a high-scoring affair as the host's Zimbabwe posted 205 for 3 in 20 overs. Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts lost an early wicket of Regis Chakabva. Ervine looked in decent touch before being dismissed. Sean Williams and Wesley Medherve steadied the ship for Zimbabwe putting on 56 runs for the 3 rd wicket. Sikander Raza blasted away Bangladesh bowling lineup along with Medherve. Medherve decided to retire hurt due to an injury. Raza completed fifty off 23 balls and put on 91 runs for the 4 th wicket. Top performers getting call ups for Indian ODI squad against South Africa

 The BCCI announced a strong One-day international team for the 3 matches series against South Africa to be played from 19 th January 2022. Newly-appointed captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the series due to an injury. KL Rahul will take charge of the Indian team. The other talking point about the ODI team is that Jasprit Bumrah has been named as the vice-captain. Ruturaj Gaikwad who scored 4 centuries in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021 for Maharashtra has been included as an opener along with KL Rahul. Shikhar Dhawan also makes a return to the ODI squad. The middle-order comprises Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav. Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan has been named as wicketkeepers. India versus England 3rd ODI: India beat England in a thriller to seal the series

  The Indian Cricket Team defeated England in a high scoring decider played at the MCA Stadium, Pune on Sunday. England stand-in captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. It was an aggressive start by Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan looked in sublime touch right from the word go. Dhawan timed the ball brilliantly putting the pressure back on the England bowlers. On the other hand, Rohit also showed his class with lovely strokes. At the end of the first 10 overs, Indian openers raced away to 65. After the field restrictions, Dhawan continued his aggressive approach and completed his fifty off just 44 balls.   The South African Cricket Team created history as they defeated a strong Indian side in their own backyard winning the fifth and final ODI played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 25 th October 2015. South African captain AB de Villiers won the toss and decided to bat first. Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla provided a flying start putting on 33 runs for the opening wicket. After the fall of Amla’s wicket, de Kock and Faf du Plessis looked in sublime touch putting pressure on the Indian bowling line-up. At the end of the first 10 overs, South Africa raced to 73 for 1. De Kock played with positive intent and completed his fifty off 42 balls. Du Plessis kept the scoreboard ticking taking singles and hitting boundaries. Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first. Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed off the third ball of innings with beauty from Sheldon Cottrell.
