WPL 2025: Delhi Capitals Becomes The First Team To Qualify For Playoffs

 Under the captaincy of Meg Lanning, Delhi Capitals became the first team to qualify for the playoffs stage with a resounding win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 1 st March 2025. DC captain Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to field first. Shikha Pandey got the early breakthrough dismissing RCB captain Smriti Mandhana with a simple catch to Meg Lanning at first slips. Dani Wyatt and Ellyse Perry steadied the ship putting pressure on the Delhi Capitals bowling. Right after the first timeout, Marizanne Kapp got rid of Dani Wyatt Hodge with a lovely delivery.   Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered a dominating 8-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in a repeat of last year’s finals played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara on 17 th February 2025. After opting to field first, RCB produced a dominating bowling performance bundling Delhi Capitals out for 141 in 19.3 overs. Apart from Jemimah Rodrigues and Lanning’s 59-run partnership, RCB bowlers did not allow any partnership to grow taking wickets at regular intervals.   The defending Champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered a dominating win over Delhi Capitals in match number 4 of WPL 2025 played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara on 17 th February. RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to field first. Renuka Singh struck in the first over itself dismissing dangerous Shafali Varma providing a simple catch to Mandhana at mid-off. Jemimah Rodrigues showed intent by putting pressure on RCB bowlers. On the other hand, Meg Lanning struggled with timing. Rodrigues showed intent to keep the scoreboard ticking.
