WI vs SA 2nd Test 2nd Day: Match Hangs In The Balance

  The second day of the 2 nd test match saw the match hanging in the balance with both teams having chances of winning played at Providence Stadium, Guyana on 16 th August 2024. Starting on the overnight score of 97 for 7, it was not an ideal start for West Indies as Worrican and Jayden Seales went cheaply. All-round England defeat West Indies by 113 runs to level the series

Thanks to all-round performance, England registered an emphatic 113 runs win on the fifth and final day of the 2 nd Test match played at Old Trafford, Manchester on Monday. With this win, England has earned 40 points in the ICC Test Championship points table. Starting on the overnight score of 37 for 2, Ben Stokes looked in serious form right from word go and put West Indies bowlers under pressure with big stroke play. England captain Joe Root gave the strike to Stokes. John Campbell dropped a sitter to get rid of dangerous Stokes. Stokes took advantage of the chance and completed his fifty off 36 balls. Thanks to Sibley and Stokes partnership, England have ended the 1 st day of the 2 nd Test match in a decent position played at Old Trafford, Manchester on Thursday. After a long rain delay break, West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and decided to field first. Kemar Roach bowled well with tight bowling. On the other hand, Shannon Gabriel was wayward and did make the England openers play. The West Indies captain Jason Holder bought Alazzari Joseph into the attack but could not do any damage with his line and length. Soon after, Holder bought himself and bowled steadily. At the stroke of lunch break, Roston Chase got the breakthrough dismissing Rory Burns. Burns was given out for LBW and he decided to review, as the decision was upheld.
