BWF World Tour Finals 2022: HS Prannoy shocks Olympic Champion Victor Axselen

 HS Prannoy stunned the Olympic Champion Victor Axselen in the final Group A game of the BWF World Tour finals played in Bangkok on 9 December 2022. The Indian lost the first two matches in three thrilling games against Kodai Narakoka and then Lu Gungazou of China. It was an impressive performance by Prannoy who looked impressive with his shots putting the Olympic Champion under pressure. Prannoy had a steady start against Axselen as he stayed in touch on the scoreboard initially. Axselen looked in complete control with great smashes putting the Indian under pressure. Despite Prannoy catching up, Axselen won the first game easily at 21-14. HS Prannoy looked impressive initially in the second game. Axselen showed his aggression with an 11-8 lead at the interval. BWF World Tour Finals 2022: Top 8 players in each section

 The 2022 BWF World Tour finals was supposed to happen from 14 th -18 th December in Guangzhou but moved to Bangkok. The top 8 players from each section qualified for the prestigious tournament that will be held from 7 th -11 th December 2022. Here we look at the Top 8 players in each section Men’s Singles The lone Indian player in the fray HS Prannoy has been clubbed in Group along with Viktor Axelsen, Kodai Naraoka, and Lu Gungazu. Each player will face another once before the top two will qualify for the semi-finals. Prannoy will face first Japanese Narakoa on 7 th December, followed by Gungazu of China on the 8 th before facing Axselen of Denmark in the final Group match to be played on 9 th December. HS Prannoy had a dream run in 2022 finishing runners-up in the Swiss Open, semi-finalists at the Super 1000 Indonesian Open, and Super 500 Malaysia Masters.
