FIH Women’s Hockey World Cup 2022 Pool B: New Zealand- China plays out a thrilling draw
The first match of Pool B saw New Zealand women and China play out a thrilling draw played at Wagner Stadium, Amstelveen on Saturday. It was a decent start for both teams in the first quarter with possession. After some time there attacking attack play but the defense looked solid enough as it did not yield any results. At the end of the first quarter, the scores remained 0-0. The second quarter saw aggressive moves by both teams in the initial stages but did not yield any results. Tynan scored from a field goal in the 24 th minute to give New Zealand a 1-0 lead. China tried to make a strong comeback, but New Zealand's defense remained solid enough. At the end of the second quarter, New Zealand women led 1-0. China made a strong start to the third quarter as Zhang Ying converted from a penalty corner in the 33 rd minute to level scores at 1-1.
