England versus West Indies 2nd Test 3rd Day: Rain Washed out entire day

It was a disappointing day for cricket fans as the 3 rd Day of the 2 nd Test match played at Old Trafford, Manchester was washed out without a bowl being bowled on Saturday. After a superb performance with the bat by England posting 469 for 9, Sam Curran eked out the wicket of John Campbell late on day 2 but was denied the chance. The weather forecast for the entire day was for rain and it proved it right. It is a major blow for the hosts as they would have fancied their chances to bowl out West Indies today. With the weather better for the next two days, England would be hoping to make use of the conditions and bowl West Indies out quick in the first innings. Rain forces early stumps on day 2

There was little play possible on the 2 nd day between Pakistan and Sri Lanka as heavy rains and bad light stopped the proceedings played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on Thursday. Starting on the overnight score of 202 for 5, Dhanajaya de Silva and Niroshan Dickwella played with positive intent with overcast conditions. Dhanajaya survived a chance when Mohammad Rizwan caught him, but the ball touched on ground and umpires gave him not out. It was a good batting display by Dhanajaya who reached his fifty off 94 balls. Rain arrived at the score of 222 for 5. After more than two hours were spoiled due to rain, play started again. The Pakistani captain decided to bowl Haris Sohail and Asad Shafiq. Azhar Ali took the 2 nd new ball immediately.
