ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 2nd Semi-finals: England hammer South Africa to reach finals
The defending Champions England saved their best performance as they registered an emphatic win in the 2 nd Semi-finals of ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 played at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Thursday. South African captain Sunne Luus won the toss and decided to field first. Shabnim Ismail got the breakthrough by dismissing Tammy Beaumont cheaply with an easy catch to Trisha Chetty. Dani Wyatt put pressure on the South African bowlers hitting boundaries while England captain Heather Knight struggled to rotate the strike. At the end of the first 10 overs, England women scored 44 for 1. Right after the field restrictions, Khaka dismissed Knight via review for LBW. The umpire gave it not out but on review, it was overturned to out hitting the stumps. Knight contributed just 1 run and added 41 runs for the 2 nd wicket along with Wyatt.
