French Open 2021: Three Indian shuttlers qualify for the quarterfinals
It was a good day as 3 Indian shuttlers performed well at the Super 750 French Open tournament played in Paris, France on Thursday. In the men’s singles, Lakshya Sen defeated Loh KY of Singapore in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by Sen who showed attacking skills winning it by 21-17, 21-13 to move into the quarterfinals. He will take on Heo K-H of South Korea. Sourabh Verma went down in two straight games to Kenta Nishimoto of Japan. The Indian did not give a fight losing it by 12-21, 9-21 to be knocked out. His brother Sameer Verma played brilliantly in the first game-winning it by 21-16. He then lost the 2 nd game by 12-21 before retiring due to an injury. Sameer was taking on SH Rhustavtivto of Indonesia. In the women’s singles, PV Sindhu defeated Line Christophen of Denmark in two straight games.
