Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Semi-finals 2: All-round Baroda beat Punjab to enter the finals
A superb all-round performance helped Baroda beat Punjab easily in the 2 nd semi-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 played at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday. Punjab captain Mandeep Singh won the toss and decided to field first. Ninad Rathva and Kedar Devdhar started off briskly putting pressure on the Punjab bowlers. Rathva looked good before Siddarth Kaul produced a beauty to dismiss Rathva for a run ball 15. Baroda openers put on 28 runs for the opening wicket. At the end of the first six overs, Baroda made 44 for 1. After the field restrictions, Mayank Markande and Harpreet Brar were bought into the attack by Mandeep Singh. Markande got rid of Solanki who tried to reverse swing but was plumb in front of the wicket to leave Baroda in some trouble.
