IPL 2025 Match 7: Lucknow Super Giants Stun SRH To Register First Points

  After a narrow loss in the opening game against Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants proved their worth with a resounding win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 27 th March 2025. LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided to field first. It was an ideal start for the visitors as Shardul Thakur struck early dismissing Abhishek Sharma & Ishan Kishan off successive deliveries. Travis Head showed intent with aggressive shots, keeping the scoreboard ticking to make life tough for LSG bowlers. Travis was given a reprieve as Pooran dropped a simple chance.  Lucknow Super Giants opened their account with a well-paced chase against Chennai Super Kings in a high-scoring thriller played at Brabourne Stadium, CCI on Thursday. LSG captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to field first. Robin Uthappa looked in sublime touch right from the word go putting enough pressure on the new ball bowlers. A superb direct throw by Ravi Bishnoi resulted in the run-out by Ruturaj Gaikwad cheaply. Moeen Ali joined in with Uthappa and kept the pressure on LSG bowlers. At the end of the first six overs, CSK raced away to 73 for 1. With that, the first timeout was called. Uthappa showed intent and reached fifty off just 25 balls.  The West Indies women’s team held their nerves to beat defending Champions England in a thrilling encounter played at University Oval, Dunedin on Wednesday. West Indies captain Stefanie Taylor won the toss and decided to bat first. Hayley Mathews and Deandra Dottin provided a flying start scoring runs putting pressure on the England bowlers. Both experienced batters showed intent. At the end of the first 10 overs, West Indies openers scored 58 without losing any wickets. After the field restrictions, Mathews and Dottin maintained the momentum for West Indies keeping the scoreboard ticking.  Thanks to a brilliant batting performance by David Wiese, Namibia kept their hopes alive of reaching the Super 12 stage with an amazing win over the Netherlands in the 7 th match of ICC World T20 qualifiers played at Sheikh Zayed International Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus won the toss and decided to field first. Stephen Myburg coming to open the innings along with Max O Dowd started the innings keeping scoreboard ticking by hitting boundaries and taking singles.
