WPL 2025: Schedule Of Knockout Stages Announced

  Mumbai Indians suffered a narrow 11-run loss in the final league game of WPL 2025 against RCB played at Brabourne Stadium, CCI on 11 th March. Delhi Capitals progressed as table toppers for the third successive time. They lost to Mumbai Indians in 2023 and then RCB in the finals of the 2024 edition. Under the captaincy of Meg Lanning, DC won 5 matches and lost 3. DC had a great outing this season winning twice against Mumbai Indians, once each against Gujarat Giants, UP Warriorz & Royal Challengers Bengaluru. They suffered losses against RCB, UP Warriorz & Gujarat Giants. Delhi Capitals finished at 10 points with a positive net run rate of 0.396.   Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered a historic win over Gujarat Giants in the opening match of WPL 2025 played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara on 14 th February. RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to field first. Ash Gardner’s explosive knock, Beth Mooney’s half-century, Deandra Dottin’s quickfire knock helped Gujarat Giants post 201 for 5 in their 20 overs. In reply, Ellyse Perry looked impressive with a half-century. Richa Ghosh played a blinder of a knock along with Kanika Ahuja’s brilliance helping the defending Champions RCB chase down this target easily by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare.   The first match of the season between defending Champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru and hosts Gujarat Giants saw a high-scoring affair played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara on 14 th February 2025. RCB captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to field first. Beth Mooney showed intent right from the word go while Laura Woolvardt struggled against disciplined RCB bowling. Renuka Singh got the breakthrough for RCB dismissing Woolvardt with a lovely delivery hitting the stumps. Mooney and Woolvardt added 35 runs for the opening wicket. At the end of the first six overs, Gujarat Giants made 39 for 1. Kanika Ahuja got the prize scalp of Dayalan Hemalatha providing a simple catch to Prema Rawat at backward point.   Delhi Capitals moved to the top of the points table with a resounding win over Gujarat Giants in match number 10 of WPL 2024 played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on 3 rd March. Gujarat Giants captain Beth Mooney won the toss and decided to field first. Shafali Varma looked in decent touch putting some pressure on GG bowlers. Meghana Singh got the breakthrough getting rid of Varma caught by Woolvardt. Alice Capsey looked in sublime touch with good shots keeping the scoreboard ticking. At the end of the first six overs, Delhi Capitals scored 51 for 1. Meghana Singh struck getting the wicket of Alice Capsey. Capsey and Lanning added 38 runs for the 2 nd wicket.
