 The England Cricket Team had something to cheer as Jonny Bairstow became the first centurion in the 2021/22 Ashes series so far during the 3 rd day of the 4 th Test match played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Friday. England began the day on 13 for 0, Haseeb Hameed failed to contribute again being castled by Mitchell Starc. Before the lunch break, Zak Crawley, England captain Joe Root, and Dawid Malan fell in quick succession without adding any runs for 53 deliveries to end the first session in massive trouble at 36 for 4. After the lunch break, Jonny Bairstow and Stokes looked cautious enough without taking any runs for 17 more deliveries.  The Indian bowlers created havoc as they registered a famous win over England on the final day of the fourth Test match played at Kennington Oval, London on Monday. With this win, India moved to the top of the ICC Championship points table.  Starting on the overnight score of 77 for 0, Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed began off steadily as Umesh Yadav delivered bad deliveries. Bumrah bowled with great control but did not pick any wickets. Rory Burns completed his fifty off 124 balls before Shardul Thakur produced a beauty to dismiss Burns to end 100 runs opening partnership. Ravindra Jadeja troubled Dawid Malan with deliveries coming from the rough. Malan survived few close chances via run out and LBW through DRS method. Haseeb Hameed completed his fifty off 123 balls.  The batsmen dominated the fourth day of the 4 th Test to lead towards an exciting finish played at Kennington Oval, London on Sunday. Starting on the overnight score of 270 for 3, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja started off steadily with some lovely strokes against Anderson and Robinson making life tough negotiating the first hour. Chris Woakes struck immediately on his first ball of the spell dismissing Jadeja. Jadeja decided to review the decision and was upheld to out. Jadeja and Kohli added 59 runs for the 4 th wicket.  Thanks to a brilliant effort by Rohit Sharma and Pujara, the Indian Cricket Team gave them a chance on the 3 rd day of the 4 th Test match played at Kennington Oval, London on Saturday. Starting on the overnight score of 43 for 0, Rohit Sharma started the day with a lovely boundary off James Anderson. The Indian openers left the ball brilliantly and hit bad balls away for boundaries. Rohit Sharma was given 2 nd reprieve as Rory Burns dropped a tough chance. KL Rahul decided to review the decision for LBW, and it was overturned to not out as it was missing the leg stump. The Indian openers looked solid enough against good quality pace bowling of England.  The second day saw some great action from both teams as the match hangs in the balance played at Kennington Oval, London on Friday. It was an ideal start for India as Umesh Yadav grabbed the wicket of nightwatchman Craig Overton with a sharp catch by Virat Kohli. Yadav struck again to dismiss Malan with another good catch by Rohit Sharma to leave England in big trouble at 62 for 5. Ollie Pope survived few anxious moments against Bumrah and Yadav. After the initial spell by both Indian bowlers, Bairstow and Pope took the advantage of poor bowling by Siraj and Thakur.  The match went off to a great pace as both teams fast bowlers made good use of the conditions on the 1 st day of fourth Test match played at Kennington Oval, London on Thursday. England captain Joe Root won the toss and decided to bowl in overcast conditions. KL Rahul looked in decent touch hitting boundaries off James Anderson and Ollie Robinson. Rohit Sharma left the ball brilliantly. After the initial spell by Anderson, Chris Woakes was bought into attack and troubled Rohit with pace and bounce.   Thanks to a brilliant partnership between Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar, India made a strong comeback on the 3 rd day of the 4 th Test match played at Gabba, Brisbane on Sunday. Starting on the overnight score of 62 for 2, Ajiyanka Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara began off decently. Rahane was lucky enough as the edges went between the slips and gully twice.
