CWG 2022 Indian W versus Australia Finals: Indian team settle for silver

 The Indian women’s Cricket Team produced a remarkable effort as they lost the finals in a thrilling encounter played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Sunday. Australian captain Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to bat first. Renuka Singh produced the magic for India dismissing Alyssa Healy via review for LBW. The umpire gave not out but on review, it was overturned to out. Meg Lanning struggling with form showed intent against disciplined Indian bowling while Beth Mooney looked in decent touch to keep the scoreboard going for Australia. At the end of the first six overs, Australian women made 43 for 1. After the field restrictions, Lanning and Mooney kept maintaining the momentum with boundaries in each over. Commonwealth Games 2022 Women’s Cricket: Grace Harris and Ash Gardner snatch victories

 It was an amazing effort by both teams but Australian women held their nerves in the opening match of the 2022 Commonwealth Games Cricket competition against India played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Friday. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. It was an aggressive start as Smriti Mandhana put pressure on Australian bowling with positive strokes while Shafali Verma looked cautious. Mandhana fell chasing a wide delivery caught by Healy to give a breakthrough for the Australian team. Ash Gardner bowled steady lines and lengths not allowing Indian batters to score runs easily especially Yastika Bhatia and Verma. At the end of the first six overs, Indian women made 35 for 1. After the field restrictions, Shafali Verma showed intent to keep the pressure on the Australian bowling. Verma lived a charmed life as Healy missed a golden stumping chance.
