FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022: India and England play out a thrilling draw
It was another thrilling encounter in Pool B match as India and England played a thrilling draw played at Wagner Stadium, Amstelveen on Sunday. The Indian team began on an aggressive note with a penalty corner in the very first minute but did not convert it into a goal. Both teams tried to put pressure on each other as the Indian team struggled. Peter Isabelle scored for England with a field goal in the 8 th minute to give England a 1-0 lead. After conceding the goal, India put pressure on England with another penalty corner as England goalkeeper Hinge saved it. England could have been 2-0 ahead but Martin missed an open goal. At the end of the first quarter, the scores remained 1-0 in favor of England. It was another brilliant start for India in the 2 nd quarter with their fourth penalty corner but did not trap the shot.
