SA T20 2025 Qualifier 2: Sunrisers Eastern Cape Reach Final

  The defending Champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape produced a dominating performance to beat Paarl Royals in qualifier 2 of the SA T20 2025 played at SuperSport Park, Centurion on 6 th February 2025. Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to field first. It was an ideal start for the defending champions as Marco Jansen struck in his first over dismissing dangerous Mitchell Owen without opening his account. Luhan de Pretorius and Rubin Hermann looked cautious initially after an early wicket.   At the end of the first six overs, Paarl Royals scored 45 for 1. After the field restrictions, Pretorius and Hermann upped the ante with attacking shots keeping the momentum going for Paarl Royals. Both batters looked at ease not allowing any bowlers to settle.   The defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape Town stay alive with an impressive win over Johannesburg Super Kings in the eliminator played at SuperSport Park, Centurion on 5 th February 2025. JSK captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to field first. Tony de Zorzi and David Bedingham got off to a flying start putting CSK bowlers under immense pressure. Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana got the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Zorzi. Zorzi and Bedingham put on 46 runs in 3.2 overs. Soon after, Bedingham also fell with a stunning catch by Faf du Plessis. At the end of the first six overs, Sunrisers Eastern Cape scored 55 for 2. Johannesburg Super Kings struck twice in quick time dismissing Hermann and Tom Abell leaving them in trouble. Aiden Markram provided stability along with Tristian Stubbs.
