ICC ODI World Cup Qualifiers Super Six Match 1: Zimbabwe beat spirited Oman in a high scoring affair.

  Zimbabwe continued their winning form as they defeated spirited Oman in a high scoring affair played at Queens Sport Club, Bulawayo on 29 June 2023. Oman captain Zeeshan Maqsood won the toss and decided to field first. Craig Ervine was given out by the umpire, but the decision was upheld as the ball pitching outside leg. Ervine and Gumbie looked in decent touch keeping momentum going for Zimbabwe. At the end of first 10 overs, Zimbabwe openers scored 40 without losing any wickets. Kallehmuallah produced a beauty to dismiss Craig Ervine. Ervine and Gumbie added 46 runs for the opening wicket. Fayyaz Butt dismissed the other opener Gumbie. Sean Williams continued his brilliant form with aggressive stroke play along not allowing Oman bowlers to settle.   Oman stunned favorites Ireland in Group B of ICC ODI World Cup qualifiers played at Bulawayo Athletic Club, Bulawayo on 19 June 2023. Oman captain Zeeshan Masqood won the toss and decided to field first. Andy McBrine and experienced Paul Stirling got off to a positive start keeping the scoreboard ticking putting pressure on Oman bowlers. Bilal Khan dismissed Paul Stirling caught by Aayan Khan. McBrine and Stirling added 51 runs for the opening wicket. Soon after, Fayyaz Butt dismissed the other opener, Andy McBrine. At the end of first 10 overs, Ireland made 51 for 2. ICC World T20 qualifiers Match 6: Bangladesh stay alive with a comprehensive win over Oman

 The Bangla Tigers fought back strongly to win their first match of the tournament against hosts Oman played at Al Amerat Stadium, Muscat on Tuesday. Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start for the visitors as they lost wickets of Liton Das and Mahedi Hasan cheaply. Das was given not out and on review, it was overturned to out. Kallemullah took a brilliant return catch to dismiss Mahedi Hasan to leave Bangladesh struggling. Oman bowlers kept it tight not allowing Bangladesh to score runs easily. At the end of the first six overs, Bangladesh scored just 29 for 2. After the field restrictions, Mohammad Naim and experienced Shakib AL Hasan kept the pressure on Oman bowlers. Oman fielding was not great as they dropped few chances.  The hosts Oman started the ICC World T20 tournament with a resounding win over debutant Papua New Guinea played at Al Amerat Stadium, Muscat on Sunday. Oman captain Zeeshan Masqood won the toss and decided to field first. It was an ideal start for the hosts as Bilal Khan got rid of Tony Ura taking the inside edge onto the stumps. Kaleemullah made it a brilliant start for Oman as he dismissed Lega Siaka, in the same manner, to leave debutant PNG in trouble. Charles Amini put some pressure on the Oman bowlers along with PNG captain Asaad Vala with a flurry of boundaries. Amini and Vala took the attack to Oman bowlers keeping the scoreboard ticking. At the end of the first six overs, PNG scored 40 for 2. Amini survived a close LBW shout given not out but on review, it was retained due to the umpire’s call.
