Indian Test squad announced for South Africa tour

 The Board of Cricket Control for India announced a strong squad to face South Africa in the 3 match Test series starting from 26 th December at Centurion. Despite Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel being ruled out of the series due to injuries, the Indian team looks solid with the likes of KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Mayank Agarwal as openers. The middle-order comprises Pujara, out of form Rahane, Hanuma Vihari returns to the squad who has been in superb form during the 3 unofficial matches against South Africa A. The Indian team batting looks promising with the likes of Shreyas Iyer who made his Test debut for India during the recently concluded home Test series against New Zealand. England’s tour of India 2020-21 schedule announced

  In big news for Indian Cricket, England will tour India for a full-fledged series including 4 Test matches, 5 T20Is, and 3 One-day internationals. The matches will be played across three venues. There will be four Test matches that will be a part of the ICC Test Championship. Out of these four tests, one would be the pink-ball Test match under the new stadium in Ahmedabad. After the four tests, the teams will play 5 T20Is at the same venue. With a view of the T20I World Cup to be played in 2021, there will be more T20Is. After these five T20I matches, both teams will play 3 ODI matches that would be a part of the ICC Super League tournament. India will be looking to showcase its dominance on home soil. After the four-match Test series against Australia starting from 17 th December, they would be making sure that they reach the finals of the ICC Test Championship if they lose the Test series.   Under the captaincy of Kane Williamson, New Zealand Cricket Team created history as they defeated Pakistan in their home den played at Sheikh Zayed International, Abu Dhabi on 7 th December 2018. Starting on the overnight score of 272 for 4, Colin de Grandhomme along with Henry Nicholls hit some quickfire runs and put the Pakistani bowlers under pressure. New Zealand declared their innings at 353 for 7, giving hosts a target of 280 runs to win. Henry Nicholls was superb with his batting remaining not out on 126 while Kane Williamson played a captain knock to help the visitors recover from a tough situation. The England Cricket Team produced a dominating display on the fifth and final day of the 3 rd Test match played at Old Trafford, Manchester on Tuesday. By the virtue of this win, England earned 40 more points in the ICC Test Championship points table. Starting on the overnight score of 10 for 2, Shai Hope and Kriagg Braithwaite started off confidently against England bowlers. They played lovely shots to the boundaries before the rain arrived with the scoreboard reading 35 for 2. The Sri Lanka Cricket Team registered a thrilling win on the fifth and final day of the 2 nd Test match played at Headingly, Leeds on 24 th June 2014. England began the fifth day struggling at 57 for 5 with Joe Root and Moeen Ali arriving at the crease. It was a decent start for the hosts as both batsmen looked steady playing with solid defense taking them to 83 for 5 before the rain arrived and the umpire called lunch. After the lunch break, Moeen Ali and Joe Root continued their solid defense. Nuwan Pradeep produced the breakthrough for Sri Lanka getting the wicket of Joe Root for 31. Root and Ali added 67 runs for the 6 th wicket. Matt Prior also showed resolute defense and made life tough. England announces schedule for the West Indies Test series

After 3 months gap due to Coronavirus pandemic, International cricket will be returning as England has announced its schedule for the 3 match Test series to be played from 8 th July 2020. The West Indies Cricket Team will arrive in England on June 9 th and would travel to Old Trafford, Manchester for a three-week quarantine period and training. It is a big boost as international had completely come to a halt. According to the ECB press release, the venues for the Test series were chosen due to biosecurity environment, Testing, medical screening, social distancing, and other cricketing facilities. As per the original schedule, England was to be held at Lords, Oval and, Edgbaston from May. "We are in daily dialogue with government and our medical team, who have been incredibly supportive during this period," Elworthy said. Pakistan crush Sri Lanka by 263 runs to win the Test series 1-0

The Pakistani bowlers picked up 3 wickets without giving a run to win the 2 nd Test match by 263 runs on the fifth and final day played at National Stadium, Karachi on Monday. Pakistan earned 60 points in the ICC Test championship points table. Starting on the overnight score of 212 for 7, Naseem Shah bowled a brilliant bouncer which hit the gloves off Embudlenya. The umpire gave it not out and Pakistan decided to review it. On review, the umpire had to reverse his decision. The centurion Fernando was dismissed in the next over off Yasir Shah bowling for 102. Naseem Shah bowled a beauty to dismiss Vishwa Fernando to pick his maiden 5 wicket haul. Pakistan bowled out Sri Lanka to give them a confidence booster 263 runs win.
