Mumbai Indians won their 3 rd IPL title beating Rising Pune Supergiants by just 1 run in the finals played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 21 st May 2017. MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start as Parthiv Patel, and Lendl Simmons were dismissed cheaply by Jaydev Unadkat. After the loss of two wickets, Rohit Sharma and Rayudu steadied the innings to take them to 32 for 2 at the end of six overs. A superb run out by Steve Smith ended Rayudu’s innings. Krunal Pandya played a vital knock for Mumbai Indians scoring 47 off 38 balls. He and Mitchell Johnson added 50 runs for the 8 th wicket. Krunal was dismissed off the last ball.
