FIH Pro Hockey League 2021/22 Leg 2: Indian men’s team finish third
The Indian men’s hockey ended the FIH Pro Hockey League journey with a narrow loss to the Netherlands in the 2 nd leg played at Rotterdam on Sunday. It was an ideal start for the Indian team as Abhishek broke through the Dutch defense and put into a goal in the 1 st minute itself. The Netherlands came back strongly with a brilliant drag-flick goal by Jansen in the 7 th minute to level the match. The Netherlands put enough pressure on the Indian defense. P Sreejesh was simply sensational producing brilliant saves. It was an amazing game by both teams as the first quarter ended at 1-1. The second quarter saw P Sreejesh did not take part as a goalkeeper. India was awarded a penalty stroke as Harmanpreet Singh’s shot was weak enough the Netherlands goalkeeper saved the shot.
