Denmark Open 2022 Day 2: HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen moves into second round

 The Indian shuttlers had a decent day as HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and the men’s doubles pair of Chirag and Satwik moved into the second round of the Super 750 Denmark Open played at Odense on Wednesday. Lakshya Sen had a dominating performance against Anthony Gingting of Indonesia winning it in straight games. Both players fought for each point taking alternate points till 7-7. Sen then showed domination taking 4 points in succession to lead 11-7. After the break, it was one-way traffic as the Indian showed class winning by 21-16. The second game saw the Indian dominating right from the word go taking a commanding lead. Sen continued his aggression and never allowed his opponent a sniff. Denmark Open 2022 Day 1: Kidambi Srikanth and women’s doubles pair move into second round

 It was a great start for Indian shuttlers on the European tour as Kidambi Srikanth and the women’s doubles pairing of Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand moved into the second round with contrasting wins in Super 750 event played at Odense, Denmark on Tuesday. Kidambi Srikanth started his campaign with a shaky 3 sets win over Na Ka Long Anus of Hong Kong. The Indian struggled initially but played some lovely smashes to put the opponent under pressure. At the mid-game break, Long had an 11-8 lead. After the break, the Hong Kong player looked too strong as Kidambi Srikanth committed unforced errors. The Indian showed great courage to reduce the gap by 3 points. Long won the first game easily at 21-17. The second game saw Srikanth making aggressive moves and putting his opponent under pressure.
