Syed Modi International Tournament 2019: Kidambi Srikanth moves into the 2nd round
The Indian shuttler’s had a decent outing on the opening day of Super 300 Syed Modi International tournament played at Babu Barnansi das Indoor Stadium, Lucknow on Wednesday. In the men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth had no problems of defeating Vladmir Malkov of Russia in two straight sets by 21-12, 21-11 to move into 2 nd round. The Indian played with aggression and did not allow his opponent any chance. He will take on Parupalli Kashyap who was given a walkover by his opponent. Lakshya Sen also got a walkover in the first round. He will take on Son Won-Ho of South Korea in the 2 nd round. The South Korean player defeated A Yadav in two straight sets by 21-12, 21-16. HS Prannoy defeated Li Sheng of China in three sets by 18-21, 22-20, 21-13. Prannoy could not find a answer for the young Chinese in the first set.
