ICC World T20 2021 Group 2: Impressive Pakistan makes two out of two

 Pakistan made two wins out of two with a comprehensive win over New Zealand with an impressive all-around effort played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah on Tuesday. Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to field first. It was a decent start by New Zealand openers as Daryl Mitchell put pressure on Pak opening bowlers. On other hand, Martin Guptill looked out of sorts. Haris Rauf struck in his first over getting rid of dangerous Guptill with a brilliant yorker as Kiwis openers added 36 runs. At the end of the first six overs, New Zealand scored 42 for 1. Soon after the field restrictions, Pakistani bowlers did not allow Kiwis batters to score runs easily. Imad Wasim got rid of Mitchell caught by Fakhar Zaman. Due to disciplined bowling effort by Pakistani bowlers, Williamson struggled with his timing.  The South Africa team showed their mettle as they defeated defending Champions West Indies in a one-sided affair played at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on Tuesday. South African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to field first. It could have been an ideal start for Africa as Markrarm missed a golden run-out chance off the very first ball. Lewis and Simmons played very slowly in the first three overs scoring just 6 runs. After the initial cautious start, Lewis blasted away Markram for 18 runs keeping the momentum going. On other hand, Simmons struggled to time the ball. Lewis showed intent in hitting boundaries and keeping the momentum going for West Indies. At the end of the first six overs, West Indies scored 43 for 0. After the field restrictions, Lewis took the attack to Shamsi keeping pressure on South African bowlers.  Sri Lanka was at its best as they defeated Ireland by a big margin to register their second successive win played at Sheikh Zayed International Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie won the toss and decided to field first. The decision paid off as Joshua Little and Paul Stirling 38 rattled Sri Lankan top order getting wickets of Kusal Perera, Dinesh Chandimal, and Avishka Fernando to leave them in big trouble at 8 for 3. Hasaranga played with intent right from word go making life tough for Ireland bowlers. Nissanka also kept the momentum going on for the Lankans. At the end of the first six overs, Sri Lanka scored 41 for 3. After the field restrictions, Hasaranga and Nissanka kept the pressure on with brilliant strokes against Ireland bowlers. Ireland name their squad for the World T20 2021

 Ireland announced their squad for the prestigious World T20 2021 to be played in the United Arab Emirates. They would feature in this tournament during qualifying rounds along with Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Namibia in Group A.  The top two sides in the Group would qualify for the Super 12 stage. The team will be led by Andy Balbirnie and has the experience of youth and top-quality players. Ireland would be looking to shred the disappointment of poor performances in the 2016 World T20 as they were knocked out in the first round itself. Paul Stirling, Kevin O Brien, Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher, Dockrell comprises the batting line-up.  After the Indian team announced their squad for the prestigious tournament on 8 th September, three more teams including England, South Africa, and Bangladesh gave their names to the ICC before the 10 th of September deadline. England One of the favorites to win the tournament, England announced its 15-man squad. This squad looks balanced with big names like Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan, and other explosive batsmen can change the course of the game. England has transformed the style of play into the limited-overs format. Under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan, they lost only 1 T20I series against India away from by 2-3. Ben Stokes who took an indefinite break from international cricket has not been selected for the prestigious tournament. They would be missing Jofra Archer due to an injury. Strong Indian squad selected for the World T20

 The BCCI announced the 15-member squad for the prestigious World T20 to be played in the United Arab Emirates starting from 23 rd October. The Indian team will be led by Virat Kohli in the prestigious tournaments. The batting department looks strong with Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya. The all-round department consists of Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya. Ravichandran Ashwin has been included by selectors due to his experience in spinning conditions as Yuzvendra Chahal being dropped. The spinning department consists of Rahul Chahar, Jadeja, Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy. Chahal who did not perform well in recent times has been dropped along with Kuldeep Yadav.  Australia became the 2 nd team after New Zealand to announce its squad for the prestigious World T20 starting from 23 rd October 2021. Many top stars who did not take part in the T20I series against West Indies and Bangladesh away from home has been included. Australia will be led by Aaron Finch will be looking to showcase their prowess. David Warner, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis all makes a comeback into the squad after missing series against West Indies and Bangladesh. Mitchell Marsh in great form seals his place.
