 The Indian women’s Cricket Team produced a remarkable effort as they lost the finals in a thrilling encounter played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Sunday. Australian captain Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to bat first. Renuka Singh produced the magic for India dismissing Alyssa Healy via review for LBW. The umpire gave not out but on review, it was overturned to out. Meg Lanning struggling with form showed intent against disciplined Indian bowling while Beth Mooney looked in decent touch to keep the scoreboard going for Australia.  The Indian women’s hockey defeated New Zealand in a penalty shootout after 1-1 at regular time played at National Exhibition Centre on Sunday. New Zealand began the first quarter on a positive note with aggressive moves with Savita Punia making a superb save. Savita made another superb save from a rebound shot by penalty corner as NZ could not convert it into a goal. Indian team missed a golden chance of converting a field goal as Sharmila Devi was not able to deflect the shot. Salima Tete shot from the rebound by Vandana Katria did not yield any results. It was an aggressive start for the Indian team as they kept the pressure on the South African with 2 successive penalty corners that went was brilliantly saved by Gowan Jones. It was an ideal start for the Indian team as they earned a quick penalty corner in the initial stages of the match. Vandana Katria missed a golden chance of converting deflection on the post.  The Indian women’s cricket showed their skills to crush Barbados in a must-win contest played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Wednesday. Barbados captain Hayley Mathews won the toss and decided to field first. It was an ideal start as Bruce got rid of Smriti Mandhana via review for LBW. The umpire gave not out but on review, it was overturned to out as it was hitting the stumps. Jemimah Rodrigues showed intent right from word go. It was an aggressive start by the Indian team right from the word go putting enough pressure on the Canadian defense. It was an ideal start for the Indian team as they asked for a review before Salima Tete scored from a rebound shot after a good save by the Canadian goalkeeper.  The Indian men’s table tennis created history as they defended their title beating Singapore in a closely fought contest played at National Exhibition Centre on Tuesday. Harmeet Desai and Sathiyan produced a dominating performance as they defeated Yong Quek and Yew Peng of Singapore in the men’s doubles. The Indian pair started the first game with aggression taking decent lead before Quek and Peng level the score at 6-6. Sathiyan and Desai had 2 match points but Singapore pair level the score. The match ebbed and flowed before Indian pair won the first game at 13-11. The second game saw brilliant points by both pairs taking alternate points till 6-6. It was a dominating performance by the Indian badminton team as they defeated Singapore easily in the second semi-finals played at National Exhibition Centre on Monday. The first match saw Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj RankiReddy defeated Y Hee and A Kwek of Singapore in the men’s doubles.  The Indian women’s Cricket Team produced a rocking display as they registered to dominate display against arch-rivals Pakistan in a rain-curtailed match played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Sunday. Due to rains, the match was reduced to 18 overs a side. Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof won the toss and decided to bat first. Renuka Singh bowled a beautiful first over with a maiden over troubling Meghana Singh produced superb delivery to get rid of Iram Javed.  Muneeba Ali was not able to time the ball, but Maroof looked decent keeping the scoreboard ticking.  The Indian women’s hockey team would be looking to showcase their skills against top-quality nations. Right before this tournament, Savita Punia and Co finished 9 th in the recently concluded Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022 played in Spain and Netherlands. Like the men’s, England qualified as the host nation for the tournament while New Zealand made it into the tournament after winning the title during the 2018 edition on Gold Coast. Australia, India, Canada, South Africa, Scotland, Wales, Ghana, and Kenya qualified for the prestigious tournament due to higher rankings.  Under the captaincy of Manpreet Singh, the Indian men’s hockey team will take part in the prestigious Commonwealth Games 2022 to be played at the University of Birmingham hockey. England qualified directly due to being the host nation while Australia made it into the prestigious event as they became champions of the 2018 edition played on Gold Coast. India, New Zealand, Canada, Wales, South Africa, Ghana, Scotland, Pakistan qualified for good rankings. There are a total of 10 teams each divided into two groups. Each team will play the other team once before the top two will qualify for the semi-finals.
