Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the Indian Cricket Team lifted the Under 19 World Cup as they defeated South Africa in a rain-curtailed match played at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 2 nd March 2008. South African captain Wayne Parnell won the toss and decided to field first. The decision paid off as Wayne Parnell and Arnold picked 2 early wickets to leave India on the backfoot. Indian captain Virat Kohli and Tanmay Srivastava steadied the Indian innings as both played according to the merit. Malan broke the partnership dismissing Kohli. Kohli and Srivastava added 47 runs for the 3 rd wicket. After the fall of Virat Kohli’s wicket, South Africa kept on picking wickets at regular intervals and bowled out India for a paltry total of 159 in 45.4 overs.
