 The England Cricket Team produced a remarkable performance as they chased down their highest ever run chase in Test cricket on the 5 th day of the 5 th Test match played at Birmingham on Tuesday. Starting on the overnight score of 259 for 3, Root and Bairstow showed intent right from the word go putting pressure with lovely shots making life tough for Indian bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah and other Indian bowlers tried to keep pressure but Root and Bairstow maintained the pressure with superb batting display. It was a brilliant display by Root and Bairstow keeping the scoreboard ticking. Root completed his century off 136 balls while Bairstow reached his century off 138 balls.  The fourth day of the 5 th Test match saw some brilliant action as Root and Bairstow provided some brilliant batting played at Birmingham on Monday. Starting on the overnight score of 125 for 3, it was an ideal start for Cheteshwar Pujara and Pant playing some lovely shots. Stokes decided to bring in Root from the other end. It was a superb batting display by Pant and Pujara keeping the pressure on England bowlers. Stuart Broad had the breakthrough in his first over dismissing Pujara providing a simple catch to Lees. Pujara and Pant added 78 runs for the 4 th wicket. Pant looked in great touch completing fifty off 76 balls.  Despite Bairstow’s brilliance, India ended the 3 rd day of the 5 th Test match in a strong position against host England played at Birmingham on Sunday. Starting on the overnight score of 84 for 5, it was a cautious start by Bairstow and Stokes against disciplined Indian bowling by Bumrah and Shami. After the initial struggle, both England batsmen kept the momentum going on with lovely shots putting pressure on Indian bowlers. Bairstow continued from where he left from the last series against New Zealand. Bairstow completed fifty off 81 balls while Ben Stokes kept playing attacking shots. Shardul Thakur dropped a simple chance to get the wicket of England captain Stokes. Thakur then redeemed himself by dismissing Ben Stokes in his first over with a lovely catch by Bumrah at mid-off.  The Indian Cricket Team produced a stunning performance to put England in trouble on a rain-curtailed day 2 of the 5 th Test match played at Birmingham on Saturday. Starting on the overnight score of 338 for 7, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja showed intent right from word go putting the England bowlers under pressure. Shami took on the short ball tactics keeping the scoreboard ticking. Jadeja also looked comfortable keeping good balls away. Zak Crawley dropped another chance. Broad eventually struck for England getting rid of Shami with a simple catch to Leach at third man. Shami and Jadeja added put on 48 runs for the 8 th wicket.  The much-anticipated one-off Test match between India and England began today in a jam-packed stadium played at Birmingham on Friday. England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to field first. Shubman Gill opened the innings along with Cheteshwar Pujara. Both openers showed intent hitting bad deliveries away for boundaries. The veteran pace duo of Anderson and Stuart Broad bowled some lovely deliveries that went past the outside edge. Anderson eventually got rid of Shubman Gill providing a simple catch to Crawley at slips. Hanuma Vihari struggled against the top-quality bowling of Anderson and Broad. Zak Crawley dropped a simple chance at first slips to get rid of Vihari. Anderson produced another superb delivery to dismiss Pujara leaving India in trouble.
