 England became the T20I champions for the second time as they defeated Pakistan in the finals of ICC T20 World Cup 2022 played at iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, MCG on 13 th November 2022. It was an impressive performance by Jos Buttler and Co in the 2022 T20 World Cup. They were placed in Group 1 along with Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Ireland, and Sri Lanka. Sam Curran's career-best figures of 5 for 10 helped England restrict Afghanistan to a modest total before chasing down the target with 5 wickets to spare. England suffered a shocking loss to Ireland in their second Pool game at MCG.  The Pakistan Cricket Team proved everybody wrong with an easy win over New Zealand in the first semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Wednesday. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bat first. Finn Allen was given out by the umpire but on review, it was overturned to not out as there was an edge. Shaheen Shah Afridi then got rid of Allen's very next ball to dent the New Zealand batting. Devon Conway showed some intent with aggressive shots putting pressure on Pakistan's bowling while Williamson steadied keeping the scoreboard ticking.  Netherlands stunned South Africa to knock them out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in a do-or-die match played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. South African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and decided to field first. Stephen Myburgh showed intent on keeping pressure on South African bowlers, especially Kagiso Rabada. O Dowd gave good support to Myburgh. At the end of the first six overs, Netherlands made 48 for 0. Markram provided breakthrough for South Africa dismissing Myburgh with an easy catch to Rossouw.  Pakistan entered the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 with a narrow win over Bangladesh in a do-or-die match played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. Bangladesh captain Shakib AL Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first. Najmul Shanto and Liton Das began the innings with positive intent before Shaheen Shah Afridi got rid of Das with a good catch by Shan Masood. Shanto and Soumya Sarkar showed intent with aggressive shots not allowing the Pakistan bowlers to settle. At the end of the first six overs, Bangladesh made 40 for 1.  Pakistan showed its unprecdblity as they a strong South African side in a rain-curtailed encounter played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Thursday.  Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first. It was not an ideal start as Mohammad Rizwan fell cheaply in the very 1 st over by Wayne Parnell taking the inside edge onto the stumps.
