Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: Karnataka beat Baroda in a thrilling contest

  Karnataka defeated Baroda in a thrilling 4 th quarterfinals match played at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara on 11 th January. Baroda captain Krunal Pandya won the toss and decided to field first. Devdutt Paddikal opened the innings for Karnataka along with captain Mayank Agarwal. Mayank Agarwal fell cheaply this time by Meriwala caught by Sheth. Agarwal and Paddikal added 30 runs for the opening wicket.   Paddikal showed intent right from the word go putting pressure on the Baroda bowlers along with Aneesh.  The 2021/22 Ranji Trophy quarterfinals saw Uttar Pradesh qualifying for the semi-finals with a 5 wicket win over Karanakta while Mumbai thrashed Uttarakhand by a record margin.  In the other quarterfinals, Madhya Pradesh registered a thumping 10 wicket win over Punjab to move into the semi-finals while Bengal earned first innings lead over Jharkhand.  Bengal created history as their top nine batsmen scored half-centuries against Jharkhand played at Just Cricket Academy, Bengaluru. It was a dominating performance as Gharami 186, Majumdar 117, Tiwary 73, Abhishek Porel 68, Shahbaz Ahmed 78, Sayan Mondal 53, and Akash deep Singh's quickfire 53 helped Bengal declare their innings on 773 for 7 on the 3 rd day.  It was a great opening day of the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals with some brilliant batting performances by Mumbai and Bengal while Punjab and Karanakta struggled against disciplined bowling efforts by Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Bengal and Mumbai ended the first day in a dominating position while Punjab and Karanakta let the good positions slip out of their hands. Quarterfinals 1 Bengal dominated the first day against Jharkhand Just Cricket Academy Ground, Bengaluru. Jharkhand captain Saurabh Tiwary won the toss and decided to field first.  The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 saw Tamil Nadu and Karnataka winning their matches on the semi-final’s day played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on Saturday. Tamil Nadu versus Hyderabad Tamil Nadu captain Vijay Shankar won the toss and decided to field first. It was a superb start by the defending Champions as Saravana Kumar grabbed the wicket of Hyderabad captain Tanmay Agarwal caught by Sandeep Warrier.  The Pre-quarterfinals matches took place in Delhi today. Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Bengal, Hyderabad, Rajasthan finished top of the points table and qualified for the quarterfinals directly. Vidarbha versus Maharashtra Vidarbha stunned experienced Maharashtra side in the first pre-quarterfinals match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.   It was another record-breaking performance as Prithvi Shaw and Devdutt Paddikal broke records during the 2 nd Semi-finals played at the Palam Air Force Ground, New Delhi on Thursday. Karnataka captain R Samarth won the toss and decided to field first. Jaiswal was dismissed cheaply by Prasidh Krishna cheaply. Quarter-finals line-up for the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy announced

  After the final day play of league, stage played at various venues today, the quarterfinals line-up for the 50 over Vijay Hazare Trophy has been announced. Group A Gujarat qualified from Group A as the table topper. They won all their matches and remained unbeaten with 20 points. In the opening match, Gujarat defeated Chhattisgarh by 3 wickets with 11 balls to spare. In their second match, Gujarat eased past Goa winning it by 8 wickets. It was another dominating performance by Gujarat who crushed Tripura by 132 runs in their match. Gujarat won a closely fought fourth match defeating Hyderabad by 12 runs. Their league stage ended with 40 runs win over Baroda. Group B Andhra Pradesh qualified for the quarterfinals based on a better net run rate.
