CT 2025: India Beat New Zealand In A Thrilling Contest To Win The Title

  The Indian men’s cricket team created history defeating New Zealand in the finals of Champions Trophy 2025 played at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on 9 th March. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santer won the toss and decided to bat first. It was a cautious start by Rachin Ravindra and Will Young in the initial stages. Rachin showed intent keeping the scoreboard ticking with boundaries and sixes with ease. Varun Chakvarthy almost made an important breakthrough given out by the umpire; in review it was overturned too not out. Varun struck in the same over dismissing Will Young with a peach of a delivery to get the breakthrough for India. Young and Rachin added 57 runs for the opening wicket.   New Zealand made it into the finals of the Champions Trophy 2025 with a resounding win over South Africa in the 2 nd semi-finals played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 5 th March. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santer won the toss and decided to bat first. Will Young and Rachin Ravindra began off to a flying start putting pressure on South African new ball bowlers namely Ngidi and Marco Jansen. Rachin showed his class with some brilliant strokes to keep the scoreboard ticking. Ngidi got the breakthrough by dismissing Will Young by providing a simple catch to Markram. At the end of the first 10 overs, New Zealand scored 56 for 1. After the field restrictions, Williamson struggled initially before keeping the momentum going along with Ravindra.   The Indian Cricket Team defeated the Australian team in the first semi-finals of the Champions Trophy 2025 played at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on 4 th March. Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to bat first. Cooper Connolly opened the innings along with Travis Head. Mohammad Shami dropped a tough chance of the very first delivery of the match. Hardik Pandya and Shami kept pressure on the Australian opening batters. Shami struck a big blow dismissing Connolly with a lovely catch by KL Rahul. Travis Head showed intent against Shami and Hardik Pandya putting them under pressure. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santer won the toss and decided to field first. Rohit Sharma began the innings on a positive note putting pressure with attacking shots.
