India beat Japan in a closely game to win Olympic Test event.
After the Indian men's team cruised to an easy victory over New Zealand by 5-0, it was the turn for the Indian women's team as won a closely fought match against Japan by 2-1 in the summit clash at Olympic Test event at Tokoyo on Wednesday. In the 1 st quarter, the Indian team dominated the first 10 minutes. Navneet Kaur gave India the lead with a fine finish in front of the goal. Japan levelled the score in the next minute with a brilliant field goal by Shimizu. At the end of the 1 st quarter, the scores were level at 1-1. The second quarter the Indian team having few chances in the first few minutes with the likes of Vandana Kataria and Navjot but could not produce goals. Japan also tried to score a goal as Shimizu created a chance as Indian team defence remained solid. The scores at half time were 1-1.
