With this win, the hosts moved to the top of the points table. Indian team began the first quarter with aggression earning a penalty corner with Wu Surong saving the goal. The 2 nd penalty corner was not halted properly as China made a counterattack move as Vaishnavi Phalke intercepted the shot. The hosts put pressure on the Chinese defense, this Wu produced another superb save. India committed unforced errors which resulted in a PC for China.
