Stuart Broad produced one of the best spells on English soil as he wrecked the Australian batting line up during the 1 st Day of the 4 th Ashes Test match played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on 6 th August 2015. England captain Alistair Cook won the toss and decided to field first. It was an ideal start for the hosts as Broad dismissed Chris Roger caught by Cook at slips in the very first over. Broad then dismissed Steve Smith with another beauty to leave Australia in trouble at 10 for 2. Broad produced another stunning delivery to dismiss Shaun Marsh with a good catch by Ian Bell. Stuart Broad jumps significantly in the latest ICC Test bowlers’ rankings

After a match-winning performance in the 3 rd Test match against West Indies at Old Trafford, Manchester on 28 th July, Stuart Broad jumps significantly in the latest ICC Test bowlers’ rankings announced today. Australian pacer Pat Cummins retains the top spot. He has been occupying the bowlers ranking in Test matches for quite some time. New Zealand left-arm pacer Neil jumps one place to number 2 nd in the rankings. Cummins and Wagner have not played any international cricket since March. Stuart Broad jumps 7 places up to his career-best rankings of number 3. He was instrumental in helping England register a commanding 269 runs during the 3 rd Test match against West Indies at Old Trafford, Manchester. Broad took 10 wickets in the match and became the 7 th bowler in Test Cricket to achieve the feat of taking 500 wickets. Despite half-centuries by Brooks, Braithwaite, and Chase, it was an amazing spell of bowling by Broad and Woakes to give the hosts a chance on the 4 th day of the 2 nd Test match played at Old Trafford, Manchester on Sunday. The 4 th morning saw sunny skies as West Indies resumed the day on 32 for 1. It was a frustrating thing for the hosts as Alazzari Joseph was dropped by Ben Stokes at second slips and the edges did not go to hands. On the other hand, Kraigg Braithwaite was solid as ever. The nightwatchmen also survived a run-out chance. Kraigg Brathwaite played according to the merit of the ball. After the initial spell by Woakes and Broad, Sam Curran was bought into the attack, but Joseph looked decent enough.
