BWF World Tour Finals Day 1: PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth make winning starts
Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu made winning starts to the prestigious BWF World Tour finals played at Bali, Indonesia on Wednesday. Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy lost to Japan Nami Matsuyama and Shida in Group B match of Japan in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by the Japanese pair in the first game-winning it 21-14. Despite giving some tough fight during the 2 nd game, Nami and Matsuyama won it 21-18. They will now face Gabriela Steova and Stefani Stevoa of Bulgaria in do or die match tomorrow. Stevoa Sisters won their opening match against Chole Birch and Lauren Smith in two straight games 21-12, 21-11. The men’s doubles pairing of Satwiksairaj RankiReddy and Chirag Shetty lost to Kim Astrup and Rasmussen of Denmark in a Group A match.
