ICC Test rankings: New number 1 ranked batsman
Before the start of 4 th Test match to be played at Kennington Oval, London starting from tomorrow onwards, there has been changes in the latest ICC Test batsman rankings announced by ICC. After a brilliant 121 runs in the first innings of the third Test at Headingly, England captain Joe Root has climbed up to number 1 position. He has been in sensational form during the ongoing series against India with 3 centuries to his name. His performances has stood England in good stead in the three matches so far and would be looking to continue his brilliant form. Root climbed to top spot in Test matches after a gap of six years. The Kiwis captain Kane Williamson did not play any matches since the World Test Championship finals against India slipped down one place to number 2 nd . Williamson showed great courage and fight to help New Zealand wins the inaugural edition of the longest format. Australian Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne maintains their positions at numbers 3 and 4. ...
