  The Indian shuttlers had a mixed day on the 3 rd day as Lakshya Sen and Kiran George progress into the quarterfinals of Super 500 Thailand Open 2023 played in Bangkok, Thailand on 1 June. Kiran George produced a brilliant performance against Weng Hong of China winning it in two straight games. Both players started the game on even keel fighting for each point. At the mid-game break, the Indian had a 11-9 lead. After the break, Kiran George looked in fine touch and put opponent under pressure with smashes and drop shots, winning the first game easily at 21-11. Indonesia Open 2022: Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen crash out

 The top Indian shuttlers did not have a great day as Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen lost out in the first round of the prestigious Super 1000 Indonesia Open 2022 played in Jakarta, Indonesia on Wednesday. In an all-Indian match, Lakshya Sen suffered a shock loss to HS Prannoy in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by Prannoy winning by 21-10, 21-9 to move into the second round. He will face Na Ka Long Anus of Hong Kong who defeated Rhusvatito of Indonesia by 21-17, 11-21, 21-16. Kidambi Srikanth suffered a straight-game loss to 41st-ranked Brice Leverdez of France.  The two Indian singles players in the competition, PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen moved into the quarterfinals of Super 500 Indonesia Masters played at Istora Gelora Bung Kamo, Jakarta on Thursday. Lakshya Sen defeated Rasmus Gemke of Denmark in two straight games at 21-18, 21-15 to move into the quarterfinals.  The Indian men’s team showed their fighting spirit as they registered a thrilling win in their 2 nd match against Hong Kong played at the Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia on Thursday. Bronze medallists of World Championship 2021, Lakshya Sen gave India a perfect start defeating Lee Chik Yu in straight games. The first game was a close-fought affair before Sen won it by 21-19. Kidambi Srikanth stunned the higher-ranked Na Ka Long Anus of Hong Kong in three grueling games. It was an amazing performance by experienced Indian shuttler struggling for form.   It was a mixed day as 3 Indian shuttlers made into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 All England Badminton Championship 2021 played at Birmingham on Thursday. In the opening match at Court number 1, HS Prannoy lost to World number 1 Kento Momota in two straight games. The first game saw both shuttlers play attacking badminton putting the opponents under pressure. After the initial struggle, Momota was too strong in his defense and attack making life tough for the Indian. From 7-6 up, the Japanese took an 11-7 lead at the interval. After the break, Momota maintained the domination over Prannoy and won the first game at 21-15. The second game saw HS Prannoy showed aggressive intent and put Momota under pressure with smashes, but Momota kept the Indian under good pressure. At the mid-game interval, Prannoy led 11-9. The young Indian shuttler Lakshaya Sen defeated Sweden Felix Burestedt in two straight sets at 21-12, 21-9 to move into the finals of the Super 100 Dutch Open played at Alemere, Netherlands on Saturday. It was a dominating performance by Sen who outplayed his Swedish opponent right from word go and made life tough for him. Both players fought for each point till 6-6. Sen produced a dominating display to take 5 points in succession to lead 11-6 at the interval. The young Indian singles player of Lakshaya Sen and RM Bhardwaj moved into the quarter finals of the Super 100 Dutch Open played at Almere, Netherlands on Thursday. It was an outstanding performance by Lakshaya Sen who defeated higher ranked Brazil player Y Coelho in three sets by 21-13,16-21, 21-10. The Indian proved his worth with great shots and put the Brazil player under pressure to win the first set easily at 21-13. In the 2 nd game, Sen committed lot of mistakes which Coelho took advantage of and forced the match into decider.
