French Open 2024 Quarterfinals: Lakshya Sen And Doubles Pair progress into the semi-finals

  It was a superb outing as Lakshya Sen and the men’s doubles pair qualified for the semi-finals with contrasting wins in the Super 750 French Open played in Paris on 8 th March 2024. Satwik/Chirag Shetty dominated as they won in two straight games against Thailand pair Jomkoh and Kedren. The first game was a closely fought encounter before Satwik/Chirag won the first game by 21-19. Indian pairing looked in complete control with their shots and won it easily by 21-13 to move into the semi-finals. They will face the Korean pair of Kang Min Hyuk and Seo. Lakshya Sen fought I hard in three sets to defeat Loh Kiean Yew of Singapore. The first game was a closely fought affair with both players fighting for each point. Loh won it by 21-19 scoreline.   The Indian Shuttlers had a great day with most of them making it into the quarterfinals of the Super 750 French Open played in France on 7 th March 2024. PV Sindhu proved her worth with a three-set win over Zhang of the United States of America. The first game saw the Indian struggling before losing the first game easily at 13-21. Sindhu struggled initially in the second game before showing her class putting the USA player under pressure. She played some lovely smashes that kept her on the front foot, winning the second game easily at 21-10.   The third game also started decently for both players before Sindhu showed her class winning it easily by 21-14 to move into the quarterfinals. She will play Chen Yufei of China. The women’s doubles pairing of Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand stunned World number 7 Fukushima and Hirota in two straight games.   It was a good outing for the Indian Shuttlers as Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu moved into the second round of the Super 750 French Open played in Paris on 6 th March 2024. Kidambi Srikanth stunned Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei in three grueling games. The Indian showed his class putting the opponent under immense pressure with smashes and drop shots. At the mid-game interval, Srikanth led 11-7. After the mid-game interval, it was one-way traffic for Srikanth winning the first comfortably at 21-15. The second game saw both players fighting for each point initially before Srikanth showed his class taking an 11-8 lead at the break.   The Indian Shuttlers had a brilliant outing as they moved into the second round of the Super 750 French Open played in Paris on 5 th March 2024. Satwik/Chirag Shetty produced a dominating performance registering a commanding win over Ong Y S and Teo E Y of Malaysia in straight games. The Indian pair showed their class in the first game winning by 21-13. Both pairs fought for each point in the second game as the Indian pairing held onto their nerves to win by 24-22 to move into the next round. They will face Man W C and Tee K W of Malaysia. The women’s doubles saw Tressa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand defeat their counterparts Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa in three games.
