Two Indians jump in the latest ICC Test rankings

  After a 2-day Pink-Test match between India and England played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, two Indians gain significantly in the latest ICC Test rankings announced on Sunday. In the batting department, Kiwis captain Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Joe Root, Indian captain Virat Kohli, Babar Azam and Henry Nicholls maintains their respective place at number 1, 2, 3, 4,5,6 and 7. The explosive Indian opener Rohit Sharma has been in sensational form during the ongoing Test series against England. After a brilliant 161, he showed his class with a superb 66 and 25* in the 3 rd Test match played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. New Zealand officially becomes the number 1 ranked Test team in the world

  After defeating Pakistan in the first Test match at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui by 101 runs today, New Zealand officially became the number 1 ranked Test side in the world. It is a historic moment for the Kiwis as they dethroned Australia and go top of the rankings for the first time in their history. Under the captaincy of Kane Williamson, New Zealand are a strong force to reckon especially in-home conditions. On the fifth and final day against Pakistan, Trent Boult began well removing Azhar Ali cheaply. Mohammad Rizwan and Fawad Alam kept the hosts at bay putting on 165 runs for the 5 th wicket. After a match-winning performance with the ball and bat in the 2 nd Test match against West Indies played at Old Trafford, Manchester from 16 th July onwards, Ben Stokes displaced Jason Holder as the new number 1 ranked all-rounder in the latest ICC Test rankings. In the first innings, Ben Stokes came at the crease with England struggling at 81 for 3. He took time to settle against some good pace bowling from West Indies. It was a disciplined inning from the all-rounder as he left the ball and played attacking strokes to put pressure on the visitors. Stokes reached his fifty off 119 balls. He ended the first day not out on 59 runs. On the second day, Stokes played cautiously against the 2 nd new ball. He remained not out on 99 at lunch and richly deserving completed his century with a reverse sweep shot of Chase bowling.
