Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25: Karnataka beat Baroda in a thrilling contest

  Karnataka defeated Baroda in a thrilling 4 th quarterfinals match played at Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodara on 11 th January. Baroda captain Krunal Pandya won the toss and decided to field first. Devdutt Paddikal opened the innings for Karnataka along with captain Mayank Agarwal. Mayank Agarwal fell cheaply this time by Meriwala caught by Sheth.   Tamil Nadu proved too strong as they defeated Baroda in an emphatic manner of the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy finals played at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad on Sunday.   A superb all-round performance helped Baroda beat Punjab easily in the 2 nd semi-finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 played at Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad on Friday. Punjab captain Mandeep Singh won the toss and decided to field first. Ninad Rathva and Kedar Devdhar started off briskly putting pressure on the Punjab bowlers. Rathva looked good before Siddarth Kaul produced a beauty to dismiss Rathva for a run ball 15. Baroda openers put on 28 runs for the opening wicket. It was another good day of cricket in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Super League. Karnataka continued their domination winning their 3 rd successive match and qualify for the semi-finals in Group B. Mumbai defeated Jharkhand. In Pool A, Maharashtra stunned the table topper Baroda while Haryana won their match against Delhi. Group A Maharashtra versus Baroda Maharashtra defeated Baroda by 67 runs in the first match of Pool A played at CB Patel International Cricket Stadium, Surat on Sunday. Maharashtra captain Rahul Tripathi won the toss and decided to bat first. Vijay Zol and Ruturaj Gaikwad provided a flying start to innings adding 51 runs for the opening wicket in just 5.5 overs.
