In Ranchi which hosted the 1st ODI India won the toss and elected to bowl. The bowlers responded well by bowling a great line and length restricting them to low score of 155 with all the bowlers chipping wickets at regular wickets. In the recently concluded series against the Pakistan the batting has been a failure with only Dhoni performing with the bat scoring 203 runs the second highest scorer of the series behind the Pakistani opener Nasir Jamshed.The first ODI saw the team reducded to 29 for 5 in 10 overs but after dhoni played a captian knock of 113 to give india a respectable score of 227 for 6.  Despite that The Indians lost the match by 6 wickets.In the 2nd the batting let down again leaving them reeling at 95 for 5 chasing 250 and finally lost the match by 85 runs and in the last match of series in Delhi the team was all out for 167 in 43.4 overs but their fielding and bowling won their match by 10 runs.
