A real chance for Indian junior hockey to shine at world stage

The real test begins when the  men's junior world Cup will start from the 6th of December at the Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi where the Indian team will participate in the prestigious tournament  . The team is in Group C which has Holland, Canada and South Korea. After that the team are likely to face strong teams like Australia, New Zeleand, Argentina and other teams from other groups in the quarter final. After a morale boosting win in Johar Baru Cup the confidence will be high and the Indian team are aware there is no room for mistake and has to be on the target from the first game. I think India has enough talent to win this tournament and make a name for themselves. This tournament will provide a chance and pressure to perform on the home turf. The likes of Mandeep Singh, Amit Rohdas, Sarbjit Singh and other players who have played for the Indian senior team to perform at the international level. The well balanced team needs to focus on the weakness, build stamina ...

Next 1 year important for the Indian cricket team

After a disastrous tour of England and Australia last year there were speculation that MS Dhoni should be removed from test team. MS Dhoni the captain of the Indian team from the last 5 to 6 years has to be given credit for the glory that he has brought to the country. As a ODI captain he is considered to be the best in the world and but in tests especially in England, Australia and South Africa the contribution with bat needs to taken care. In 2013 India has won the champions trophy with such young team which nobody expected, the tri nation series in West Indies,in Zimbabwe.   The real challenge begins now which from South Africa, then in New Zeleand, England and in the end of 2014 in Australia. The last time that the Indians went to rainbow nation the team drew test series 1-1 and lost the ODI"S 3-2. In 2013 the Indian team has been in red hot form in tests, ODI's with winning 6 series overall but in tests especially in their own den the MS dhoni led team must face the stro...

No way back for Sehwag in Indian team

For the past 2 years former  Indian opener who changed the face of batting is now struggling for form for whatever the format. A match winner on his day can win the match on his own in the current Ranji season is not scoring runs and is being replaced with another power hitter Shikhar Dhwan. His ability and hand coordination makes him a special batsman but from England tour last year and also the Aussies tour last year , also injuries are keeping out of the team. Whenever the opponents see this man they get afraid and set a defensiveness fielding. The cracks between Dhoni and Sehwag I think may be the reason that the dangerous man is out of the team. Sehwag who broke the record of scoring double ton in ODI's and two triple centuries in  test matches was the most dangerous batsman to bowl. I think the fielding and care free attitude, the youngsters performing is not doing good for him. The best way is to score runs and spending time in middle. The likes of Shikhar Dhawa...

Is it good to have lesser known sides in international cricket?

Cricket is game of uncertainty where a lesser known side can defeat strong opponents on the day. In the previous 5 to six years the associate and minnow  nations like Ireland, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan  have performed brilliantly.Ireland the best associate nation has defeated some strong teams like England in World Cup 2011 beating England in high scoring match, then beating Pakistan in 2007 knocking out the Pakistani team from the 1st round that led to death of Bob Woolmer. The T-20 world cups have lesser known teams like Holland, Ireland, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. These teams needs more matches against the stronger team like India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Engaland. All these lesser known sides has atleast one or two good players that can change the situation of match with the power but the negative side is that they are not able put pressure through their bowling. The Ireland side has KO Brian which has fastest hundred in world cups. I think the be...

The ashes part 2 rivarly set to resume again

From 21st of November the 2nd part of ashes rivalry in this year is set to resume which is between England and the Australian. The England looks a balanced side with their strong bowling comprising of Anderson, Broad, Finn, Tremlett and Swann, the Aussies are eager to take revenge after the loss in England by 3-0. The focus will be on the pitches but the question remains to be seen that the Australian top order has to give a solid foundation for the likes of Clarke, Watson to build on and make a huge score that can put pressure on the English batsman. Earlier this year the Aussies batsman began well but after good starts they threw their wickets away and led them to defeats. I think the role of batsman from both sides will be crucial, the opening partnership needs to be strong so that the batting team first can build a huge score. The English side has to aware of the quick's of the Australian bowling which comprises of Siddle, Harris, Johnson, Faulkner and spinner lyon. The pace...

Sachin- A genius sportsman

When the last wicket of the West Indies innings fell it came to an end to 24 illustrious cricketing carrier which every Indian fan, the players who have played with him, well wishers will be so proud of. The farewell he got and the respect he got from the Indians players, the people at the stadium today cried and were disappointed that Sachin will never play the sports again. His achievements in international cricket is just outstanding and he deserves all the credit and accolades he has received in the past 2 test matches. I think that Sachin Tendulkar is a perfect role model for young people who are aspiring to be cricketer and become like him. After the match got over he was in tears and the people were screaming Sachin. His carrier began started in Mumbai and ended at the same ground was a fitting farewell for one of greatest cricketer that cricket seen. His honesty, hardwork, dedication and respect for the game has made him survive for such a long time. The knocks he has played...

Asian teams dominating the cricket world- A welcome change

In the era of  1970's the cricketing world was dominated by the West Indies because of the their  strong pace bowling and strong batting line up and from 1999 onwards till 2006 the Aussies dominated the cricket world having the number 1 rank for a long time. In the recent months a great change is explicit that the Asian teams like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh are giving a tough fight to the other top teams.Afghanistan has qualified for the World Cup 2015 for the first time to compete with world's best .  In 2013 the Indian team has been performing brilliantly with 71% win record  in ODI and 100% wins in test matches. The main reason of success has been the young players performing at the international level. Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and  Chateshwar Pujara are doing so well that the experienced players Sehwag, Gambhir dropped recently and Rahul Dravid and Laxman and Sourav Ganguly retired recently are not being missed . Master blaste...

Indians dominate in rankings

The time has come when the Indian players are dominating in rankings. The team showed that if there is a will to succeed nothing is possible. In 2013 the Indian team has been playing brilliant cricket in all three formats. In recent rankings revealed Jadjea is at the top of bowlers ranking, Ashwin due to his wonderful 123 runs and 5 wickets is at the top of all rounders ranking, Virat Kohli 1 in the batsman ranking, Dhoni at 6th position. This shows that youngsters are willing to perform and succeed at the top level which now they belong. Virat Kohli who has been in brilliant form in the recent concluded India- Australia series in which he smashed 2 centuries in quick time and 1 fifty which led India to a win. Dhoni who has performed so well in 2013 with the bat and in ODI he has been excellent in tough situations and becoming the number 1 rank team in ODI rankings. I think the contribution of other players has been as important that the Indian team are performing in India as well a...

Sachin Tendulkar final test series to began tommorow

After all the speculation has been over the venues for Sachin final test series against West Indies, Kolkatta and Mumbai will host the two test matches. All the focus is on this genuis man who has been a brilliant ambassador for cricket in India and has been treated has god of Cricket in India, the preparation for the Kolkatta test match is in full force. The Indian team would be eagerly waiting to give Sachin Tendulkar a winning farewell gift. The ovation that he received at the Eden gardens and the pictures that he saw outside the stadium of his cricketing carrier shows that he deserves all the credit , the hardwork, dedication that he has put makes him a special cricketer. I think Sachin Tendulkar main focus will be on the match. The Bengal Cricket Association are making efforts to make this test memorable that will be cherished for rest of his life. The crowd response was great but West Indies will make every efforts to get him out. I think the roar he may get in Kolkatta and al...

Bangladesh- The tigers

In the 2010 series in Bangladesh defeated the Kiwis 4-0 in a 5 match ODI series and the whitewash has happened again in 2013. The series saw some fantastic batting and bowling from the home side. The tigers were without Shakib in the ODI series. The Bangladesh team has improved a lot beating Sri Lanka in ODI at their home den is a big achievement.   The spinners played a crucial role in this whitewash. The likes of Sohag Gazi, Abdur Razzak, Rubel Hussian did a wonderful job. In the first match of the series Bangladesh made 265 and then restricted them to 162. In that match Rubel Hussain took a hattrick which changed the complexion of the match. In the second match Bangladesh made 247 and then bowled out the Kiwis for 207. The third match was a high scoring match in which Newzeland made 307 for 5 but Bangladesh had other ideas, built partnership and laid a strong foundation which helped the home team chase down 308 in Fathullah. It was a superb effort from the team whitewash the ...
