Scotland fixtures in the Super 12 stage

 Scotland achieved a huge milestone as they finished top of Group B in the qualifying round played at Al Amerat Stadium, Muscat. They performed brilliantly winning all three matches defeating Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, and Oman.

Scotland created a major upset as they defeated a strong Bangladesh side in their opening match. After being reduced to 53 for 6, Chris Greaves and Mark Watt rescued putting on 51 runs for the 7th wicket. Thanks to useful contributions from the lower order, Scotland posted 140 for 9 in 20 overs.

Scottish bowlers troubled the Bangladeshi batters and did not allow them to score runs easily. Chris Greaves was the pick of bowlers for Scotland with 2 important wickets. With 24 runs required off the last over, Sharif held his nerves to help them win the match by 6 runs.

Thanks to a superb knock by experienced Richard Berrington and Matthew Cross partnership, Scotland posted 165 for 9 in 20 overs. Scotland bowlers kept it tight reducing PNG to 35 for 5 in the first six overs itself. Norman Vanua gave a scare Watt and Davey ensured that Scotland register 17 runs win. Josh Davey for his 4 for 18 in 3.3 overs was awarded the man of the match.

In the final Group B match, Scotland bowlers kept it tight and made life tough for Oman batters bowling them out for 122. Munsey and Coetzer gave a decent start to Scotland putting on 33 runs for the opening wicket. It was a brilliant partnership between Berrington and Cross to help Scotland register 8 wickets win topping the group.
