Can IBL be success like the IPL?
The much anticapted Indian badmination league which has started on the 14th August began with a bang as Delhi Smashers defeated the Pune pistons by 3-2 to start of the tournament. In this tournament there are 6 teams. These teams are Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Lucknow, Hyderabad. Like cricket this tournament provides an opportunity for the young indian shuttlers to showcase their talent to the world and compete with the experienced international players. The film stars are be also the brand ambassadors of this event. For the Mumbai Masters Sunil Gavaskar is the brand ambassador. By playing in different venues the audience especially youngsters who's role model is Sania Nehwal and the young teen sensation PV Sindhu can get to know the game and take interest in it.
Players like Guru Sai Dutt, HS prannoy, Sarubh Verma, Ajay Jayaram must learn to handle pressure while playing with top international players. The crowd yesterday at Delhi was full when the match between Sania Nehwal and PV Sindhu started. The top international players included Jualine Schenk, Lee chong wei who's participation is in doubt.
When the first Indian premier legaue began in 2008 many filmstars like Sharukh khan who is the owner of the KKR nobody thought that this legaue would be huge success as. In 2010 2 more teams were added in the name of Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Pune Warriors. Despite many disputes this league became success. Also there was huge crowds in the stadiums in each match. The matches was loved by Indian community in South Africa as the matches was held in 2009 due to some reasons. In 2013 all the stadiums were full with Chris Gayle playing one of the finest knock of 175. Some thrilling matches were played in all the seasons.
In the current IBL many groups had invested in the League, Hyderbad Hotshots was owned by PVP Ventures, Lucknow by sahara, Pune Pistons by Dabour India Limited. This shows that apart from Cricket nowadays they are showing interest in badminton.
The Indian badmination League is shown on Television with Hindi and English commentary. The audiences at home can watch the matches and enjoy a two and half week league. The players who have not played with each other will get know each other.
I think this tournament can be a success if the crowds come to watch the matches and motivate the players, teams and the style of play of their favorite players like Cricket
The organizers must try to reduce the prices of tickets, they should motivate the youngsters who want to take interest in the game come and watch the matches, those who cannot afford the organizers must make different arrangments,
