Ben Stokes brilliance leads England beating South Africa by 189 runs which went down right down the wire on the fifth and final day of 2 nd Test match played at Newlands, Cape Town on Tuesday. With this win, England earned 30 points in the ICC Test Championship. Starting on the overnight score of 126 for 2, South Africa lost an early wicket of night watch men Keshav Maharaj with a beauty by James Anderson. Faf du Plessis and Pieter Malan looked solid with their defensive against Anderson, Dom Bess and other England bowlers. At the end of first drinks break, South Africa only lost 1 wicket. It was another dominating display by the Australian team as they whitewashed New Zealand by 279 runs on the fourth day of 3 rd Test match played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Monday. With this win, Australia have strengthened their 2 nd position with 290 points in latest ICC Test Championship points table. Starting on the overnight score of 40 for 0, the explosive David Warner and Joe Burns looked in aggressive touch putting pressure on Kiwis bowlers. Warner showed his class against all Kiwis bowlers to reach his fifty off 82 balls. Todd Astle finally got the breakthrough for New Zealand dismissing Joe Burns for 40. Thanks to Dom Sibley maiden Test century and Ben Stokes quickfire knock, England ended the 4 th day in a strong position played at New lands, Cape Town on Monday. Starting on the overnight score of 218 for 4, Ben Stokes attacked the South Africa bowling line up with aggressive strokes off pacers and Keshav Maharaj. South Africa took the 2 nd new ball in the 85 th over. Stokes reached his fifty off just 34 balls while Sibley looked solid and reached his maiden Test century off 269 balls. A superb bowling effort by Nathan Lyon leads Australia domination on the 3 rd day of the 3 rd Test match played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Sunday. Starting on the overnight score of 63 for 0, Nathan Lyon provided the breakthrough for Australia dismissing Tom Blundell. Latham and Blundell just added 5 runs. Jeet Raval came to the crease and looked in aggressive touch playing the pacers and spinners well. Lyon struck again by getting rid of Jeet Raval for 31. Thanks to a superb knock by Dom Sibley and Joe Root, England ended the 3 rd day of 2 nd Test match in a strong position played at Newlands, Cape Town on Sunday. Starting on the overnight score of 215 for 8, South Africa lost the wicket of Kagiso Rabada off the very first ball of day. James Anderson picked his fifth wicket of the innings dismissing Anrich Nortje to bowl out South Africa for 223. England got a decent lead of 46 runs. In their second innings, Zak Crawley began the innings on a positive note playing some lovely drives of Kagiso Rabada. Dom Sibley looked solid with his defensive technique. Despite Dean Elgar and Van der Dussen half-centuries,  England fought back strongly at the end of day 2 of the 2 nd Test match played at Newlands, Cape Town on Saturday. Starting on the overnight score of 262 for 9, England could only add 7 runs with James Anderson caught by Van der Dussen at first slips. In reply, Peter Malan and Dean Elgar looked in positive touch putting the bad balls away for boundaries. It was good display of batting by the debutant Malan. England captain Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat first. Vernon Philander provided the breakthrough for South Africa getting the wicket of Zak Crawley cheaply. Dom Sibley and Joe Denly looked confident against Rabada, Philander and Nortje. Dom Sibley and Denly took England to 40 for 1 at the end of first drinks break.
