India squad for ICC World Test Championship finals and England tour announced.

The Board Cricket Control of India have announced squads for the ICC World Test Championship finals to be played from 18th-22nd June at Rose Bowl, Southampton with 23rd being the reserve day.

It looks like a strong squad with Mayank Agarwal, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill are the 3 openers included in the squad. Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajiyanka Rahane, Hanuma Vihari comprise the middle order.

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami make a comeback into the team after getting injured in the Australian tour. The left-handed batsman Pant has been included as the wicketkeeper while Saha would travel subject to fitness. Saha suffered COVID last week and hoping to recover soon.

In the pace bowling department, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur have been included. The spin bowling department consists of Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ashwin, Axar Patel. It promises to be an exciting encounter between the top two teams in the ICC World Test Championship. The Indian team finished top of the points table by producing magical results in Australia and registered emphatic over England in Indian conditions.

After the completion of the ICC World Test Championship finals, the Indian Cricket Team will take on England in a five-match Test series starting from 4th August 2021 at Nottingham, Trent Bridge. The series will complete on 14th September at Oval, London.

The Indian Cricket Team would be looking to continue their great form in the ICC World Test Championship finals and lift the title. After a disappointing 1-4 loss to England during the 2018 England tour, the Indian Team would be looking to showcase their skills in tough conditions and register wins.

Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya have been not included in the squad along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

  The men’s doubles pairing of Satwik/Chirag entered the quarterfinals while other 3 Indians lost in the 2 nd round of the Super 1000 Indonesia Open played at Jakarta on 5 th June 2025. Satwik/Chirag Shetty edged past R Kjaer and Sogaard of Denmark in three games. The first game began with both pairs fighting for each point. Kjaer and Sogaard displayed great service skills. Satwik/Chirag fought back strongly to make a comeback. At the mid-game break, Danish pair led 11-10. After the break, Kjaer and Sogaard played brilliant badminton winning the first game by 21-16.   The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair. Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jia Ya Fan and Zhang of China in three thrilling games.
